An Excel VBA scorecard of key numbers for Amazon's Floor Health robotics team that cut an hour of admin work to under 5 minutes, later 40 seconds. Response times to floor health issues improved 30% with it in use.
Amazon Fulfillment, Shakopee, MN The Floor Health Team Scorecard was made for Floor Health, the team in Amazon's robotics department (known internally as Amnesty) whose associates respond to problems with the Kiva drive robots that move inventory around the fulfillment center floor. It shows key process indicators (KPIs) for individual associates and for teams, and it was built in Excel VBA.
With the scorecard, admin work that had taken an hour took less than 5 minutes, and a later rebuild brought it down to 40 seconds. Associates' response times to floor health issues improved by 30% with the scorecard in use.
It was maintained for two years as the systems it connected to kept changing, and ownership was handed off successfully after a transfer to another department.
